An overview of different genres
The two major categories, or genres, are fiction which details events, and characters that are not true and nonfiction, describing events, and people that are based on fact. From these two major categories, we can classify even further. For example, fiction can be divided into poetry, drama, or prose (written work). Those categories tell us something about the form of the work.
Further, we also classify fiction according to layout and style. There are picture books, which contain words and pictures or short novels, and short stories. Finally, fiction can be classified by content and theme. Here is where we
find our common genres: adventure stories, science fiction/fantasy, mystery, horror, romance, realistic fiction, and historical fiction.
One thing to keep in mind while reading different texts: genre categories aren’t always clear-cut. You can have a crime/mystery story set in the future, such as science fiction or in the past, including historical fiction. Overall, there are a myriad of genres which shape the way we view any piece of writing, film or musical piece, forming a perception for which to react and respond to.

Overview of Manga
The word Manga can be translated as, “humorous pictures.” It has since become a huge part of Japanese culture. Unlike in America, Manga is read and viewed by most people in the country. The artists and writer of Manga are well respected for their work, much like the writers of literature in America.
Recently, Manga has become popular in America. It has been a very successful new medium that has become very popular with young people. Manga, and the Anime that it has inspired, has been seen on T.V., in movies, and has even influenced the art styles of certain American artists like Ed McGuinness, Brian Wood, and Frank Miller.
In Japan, a lot of Anime is based on popular Manga, but in America, it is usually the other way around. Most of the times, publishers will wait until an Anime has been released through stations like Fox, Cartoon Network, and The WB. Then the Manga will be published in conjunction with the release of the cartoon.

Genre Ideas
The main genre that I will chose for my final animation will be action. I have chosen this genre as I belief that most teenagers enjoy violence and a battle, as they will be my targeted audience. My animation will include lego characters and will be action-packed in order to best showcase my work to my audience. I may also incorporate some comedy as this will be able to connect with the audience and keep them entertained.
StoryBoard Structure
Using the following website- I will provide an overview of the 3 components of a story; that is, the beginning, middle and end.
Ideas for 3 stories
STORY 1- Lego
A storyboard is a large comic of a film that visually describes key images of the film and allows the film makers and other people involved in the production process to visualise what the finished film will look like, and is often drawn before the product begins management. Storyboards are also useful to identify possible problems before they happen. Storyboards don’t have to be exactly perfect; stick figures make great storyboards because you have to use some imagination to understand them. Overall, a storyboard is basically a place to process thoughts aswell as to encounter any problems before they happen in order to maximise the quality of your final product
