PRIME Overview

There are 5 groups which make up the PRIME overview- these include:-
Problem, Research, Ideas, Make and Evaluate.

PROBLEM

The problem (also known as the Design Brief), is the problem or challenge that I am presented with and I must solve in order to complete the assigned task. For example, I may be required to make an animation for my Mother's Birthday.

RESEARCH

Research allows me to explore all of the different strategies that I can use to solve the Design Brief. I will also explore how other Designers have solved similar problems and what worked well for them, as well as what didn't work and what I found interesting. By looking at other designs, I will be able to have an better idea on how I can approach my Problem and thus be able to create a well- thought and tested animation.

IDEAS

In the ideas section, I will further applicate my ideas ready for the production stage, where I will make my animation. That way I will be adequately planned and prepared for the production. During this process, I may develop a script for my animation, sketches of characters and develop a story board that I can follow when creating my animation.

MAKE

During the make stage I will commence the development of my animation using the software and resources that I have decided upon. At times I may have to refer to my ideas to make sure I am heading in the right direction and occasionally undertake more research in the use of software or other resources I may unexpectedly require, as well as acquire more skills which will be useful in this procedure.

EVALUATE

This necessary process allows me to reflect on my project and assess product regarding to the design brief that was created, and how well I solved the problem that I was presented with. To do this I will use the Four P's Model and which I have expanded upon below;

Product - Discuss how my product related to the Design Brief and if it solved my problem.

Process - Dicuss how I used the PRIME Design Cycle to assist in solving the problem.

Personal - Discuss how I used my time (i.e. time management) and also my class and home applications to the task.

Peers - Interview 4 people (class mates, family or friends) regarding my blogger and final animation.
