In this section of the blog, I will be focussing Pivot, and how effective this method of animation is. This research will cover not only the theory side of Pivot, but the practical use aswell.
The following questions should be answered in this section:-
1) An overview of your animation software
2) What you are going to use the software for
3) A PMI (positive, minus, interesting)
4) How to use the program (basic tutorial)
5) What type of animation the software is
6) An example of the software (embedded into your blog)
7) A short evaluation of the software based on your experience.

Overview of Pivot
Pivot is a computer generated animation where you start off with a stick figure on a canvas. You can add points on the body to move them and then take screen shots. These sequence of screen shots culminate into an animation. Although this form of animation does give promising results, it will take quite a while to create one, from past experiences.
What am I going to use Pivot for
Pivot is one of many programs that I will be testing. I will set my self another design brief, which will allow me to test this programme. As this is a software based animation, I will use the software on the computers at school to create it.
Positive, Minus and Interesting
Positive
The program offers a wide variety of different styles and variations for your character to move around and 'come alive.'
Minus
Unless your are experienced with this software, it is quite difficult to harness the difficulty of Pivot, thus, it will take a long time to complete it properly.
Interesting
Pivot is a complex yet fun way to produce a great animation which can be embedded into my blog.
How to use the programme
I have found a useful beginner's guide for pivot which is a helpful one.
What type of animation is Pivot
Pivot is a CGI animation. Computer Generated Imagery, or CGI is the art of creating moving pictures with the help of computers and can apply to 2-D or 3-D imagery, although most commonly is used in reference with 3-D, similar to line rider.
Evaluation of the software used
Overall I am happy with the level of knowledge I have gained from Pivot and will definitely use this great skill in other projects or for recreational purposes. This CGI animation, although quite a lengthy process, comes out with some amazing results. I am undecided whether I will use this form of animation for my final animation and will have to test the other forms of animation first.
